Every Morning

Like piper of legend, Deb heads down the drive
A full can of cat food, plenty for five.

By magic from nowhere the kitties appear
Heads into the dish, I see only rear.

It's safe now, she signals, to back up, but then
Be careful, sometimes a straggler comes in.

Slowly I creep back, scanning the way
I don't want to hit one and ruin the day.

Oh kitties be careful, I hope you can see
That some don't drive slowly like momma and me.
