Max, the Sugar Cat


Max was left on the front porch steps in a carrier with a note attached:

Hi! I'm Max!
I've been from pillar to post,
and with the most,
I just need a host,
Will YOU be my Most?

We were happy to add Max to our family, back in 2004.

In June 2007, Max was diagnosed with Diabetes (our "Sugar Cat"). He had to be rushed to the emergency room for Diabetic Ketoacidosis & Hepatic Lipidosis. It was touch and go there for a while, and now we are working on getting his insulin requirements regulated. In the process of all this intensive nursing care (blood tests, forced feedings & fluids, insulin injections...), I have grown even closer to my sweet Max!


UPDATE: Max lost his struggle with Diabetes and severe liver disease. He became my Guardian Angel on July 17, 2007. Swift wings, sweet Max.
