Goodbye

Max

Love flows from her fingers
She strokes the frail frame
And whispers, "I love you,
it won't be the same".

Her loved one is leaving
She can't help but cry
It's painful and helpless
to feel a friend die.

So sick and so feeble
No future on earth
Just moments from Heaven
What glorious birth.

And then in God's moment
A gasp and a sigh
His soul-snatching slumber
has swept one on high.

She sobs now in sorrow
It's lonesome, but then
His promise is faithful
I'll see you again.

His promise is faithful
I'll see you again.
