There lived a very lonely Prince in a beautiful castle.
The Prince lived with his parents, the King and Queen of Catitonia. The King and Queen loved their son dearly. They suggested holding a Royal Ball at the castle, and the Prince could pick out the most wonderful girl in the Kingdom, to become his Princess...
Now, there was a certain Wood Fairy who lived in the forest. She made it her business to know about all that went on in the kingdom! She was very kind, and sometimes, she granted wishes, if those that had them were virtuous!
The Fairy had kept a close eye on a little girl named Cinderella...
Cinderella was mistreated by her stepmother and her two spoiled stepsisters!
She had to do ALL the chores by herself and her bed was a pile of cinders in the floor! Her sisters were going to the Prince's Ball, but she couldn't because she only had rags to wear! Sometimes, she cried quietly to herself at night, while she worked.
The Fairy knew just what would help! So, on the night of the Ball...she went to Cinderella... and with a wave of her wand, the Fairy gave Cinderella a most beautiful gown!
Then she turned a pumpkin into a golden carriage; and some little mice into beautiful steeds! And Cinderella was on her way to the Royal Ball! The Fairy called after her saying, "Don't forget! You must be home by midnight!"
The Ball had already started! It was so exciting for all the girls! The Prince was looking for his special Princess among all the eligible girls!
And then, Cinderella walked in. Everyone was stunned with her beauty, as she floated into the room! The Prince asked Cinderella for a dance! Oh! Was he smitten with the beautiful, mysterious girl! She demurely offered him her paw... and they danced every dance together!
And all too soon, the clock struck midnight! Cinderella had lost track of time, and she fled from the ballroom!
In her haste to leave, she lost a shoe! ...and the Prince found it and kept it to try to find out who was the mysterious lady who wore that shoe!
The Prince searched daily for the owner of the shoe, determined to find her and marry her! He went to each house with the shoe... To his dismay, he realized... every girl seemed to have big feet!!
At last, he tried the shoe on Cinderlla, against the protesting of the step-sisters, and... Oh Joy!! The glass slipper fit her dainty foot perfectly! Right then and there, he proposed marriage to her! Cinderella was thrilled and gloriously happy!
And they rode off together for their wedding at the castle! And they lived happily ever after!
